Welcome to A Minute with CAISSA.
We’re going to talk about what’s next for the AI capital spending cycle. So AI, or artificial intelligence, continues to drive significant business investment and support a lot of corporate earnings right now.
But an important question is really starting to emerge. How will these companies finance all that spending? And will it generate attractive enough returns to warrant it? So as cash flow becomes more constrained for some of these really large companies, they are turning increasingly to submitting for debt.
So that’s going to make borrowing costs for those companies, balance sheet strength, and the eventual payoff from the new infrastructure more important to look at for investors. There’s also a portfolio risk worth considering.
Owning a chipmaker, a cloud company, a data center, lender, or any of that may look diversified, but all three can depend on the same AI investment cycle. So our perspective at CAISSA is to participate in the long-term, all the economic opportunities, without allowing any one theme to dominate that portfolio risk. So valuation of discipline and diversification remains essential.
