Geopolitical tension, particularly involving Iran, played a central role in market volatility this quarter. At one point, the situation weighed heavily on sentiment, but toward the end of March, markets rallied on signs of resolution that may be possible. This is a pattern we often see. Markets react very quickly to uncertainty, but they also begin to stabilize as paths towards resolution emerge.

What matters most for investments is not trying to predict the outcome, but understanding how portfolios are positioned through the time of uncertainty. Diversified portfolios are designed to navigate both escalation and de-escalation scenarios.

At the same time, the underlying economic environment remains relatively strong, and that’s providing a nice, important cushion.

From our perspective, this situation is something to monitor closely, but not one that’s currently warranting a shift in our long-term strategy. So we remain focused on resilience, discipline, and long-term positioning.
